TOLEDO, Ohio – Southeastern Louisiana returns to action with three matches this weekend in the jointly hosted BGSU / UT Invitational.
The Lady Lions (0-3) face co-host Toledo (1-2) at 10 a.m. (Central) Friday and VCU (3-1) at 10 a.m. (Central) Saturday. Both matches will be played at Savage Arena in Toledo, Ohio. Later Saturday, the Lady Lions travel to face Bowling Green (1-2) at 6 p.m. (Central) at the Stroh Center in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Live stats are available for all three matches and Southeastern's tournament opener against Toledo will be carried on ESPN3. The Bowling Green campus TV station will provide a live stream of the match against the Lady Lions.
Southeastern dropped all three of its matches at the Courtyard by Marriott Invitational this past weekend in Birmingham, Alabama.
NOTES
- Chloee Holden, a sophomore outside hitter from Alvin, Texas, was named to the Courtyard by Marriott Invitational All-Tournament Team after recording a team-best 18 kills (2.00 per set) and .279 attack percentage in the Lady Lions' three matches.
- Savannah Alcazar (2.33 pts per set), a sophomore from League City, Texas, Holden (2.06 pts per set) and Jodi Edo (1.81 pts per set), a sophomore from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, led the Southeastern attack during the opening weekend.
- Lexie Torres, a junior from San Antonio, Texas, leads the Lady Lions with an average of 4.00 digs per set.

Toledo: The Rockets dropped two of three matches at the Fort Wayne Invitational this past weekend … after dropping a five-set decision to SIU-Edwardsville, Toledo rebound for a five-set win over Quinnipiac … the Rockets dropped their tournament finale to host IPFW in four sets … Saige Thomas (3.43 kills per set) is one of four players averaging at least a pair of kills … Zoe Birnbrich (.386), Rachel Vidourek (.355) and Annie Beasley (.328) have all recorded attack percentages over .300 and are averaging at least one block per set … Toledo finished with 16-14 (8-8 MAC) record in 2016.
VCU: The Rams won two of three matches at the Texas A&M Invitational this past weekend, defeating former Southland Conference foe Texas State and current Southland member Sam Houston State … VCU swept past William & Mary in its home opener Tuesday … Tori Baldwin (2.69 kills per set) is one of three players averaging at least a pair of kills and has posted a .400 attack percentage … Jasmin Sneed (1.54), Baldwin (1.38) and Julia Adler (1.31) are all averaging more than one block per set … VCU finished last season 19-14 (8-6 A10).
Bowling Green: The Falcons dropped two of three last weekend in hosting the Hampton Inn Invitational … Bowling Green dropped a five-setter to UIC in its opener before rebounding with a sweep of Duquesne … Xavier swept by the Falcons in the final match … Jacqueline Askin (3.70 kills per set) and Nicole Slimko (3.27 kills per set) pace the Bowling Green offensive attack … Kallie Seimet's 5.91 digs per set is a high for all Southeastern opponents in the tournament … Bowling Green finished 2016 with a record of 21-10 (10-6 MAC).

Southeastern returns to the road for three matches, Sept. 8-9, at the ISTAP Collegiate Cup Invitational in Montgomery, Alabama. The Lady Lions face host Alabama State, Sept. 8, at 6 p.m. Southeastern plays a pair of matches on Sept. 9, facing off against Jacksonville at 9 a.m. and Western Carolina at 3:30 p.m.
