HAMMOND, La. – Stephen F. Austin changed the momentum with an 18-2 first-quarter run on the way to a 92-62 victory over Southeastern Louisiana in Southland Confernece women's basketball action Saturday afternoon at the University Center.
Southeastern (5-21, 3-12 Southland) had its Senior Day spoiled, as senior forward
Chey Stewart was honored prior to Saturday's game. SFA (20-5, 11-3 Southland) shot 50.8 percent (32-for-63) from the floor and finished with a 46-29 rebounding advantage.

Taylin Underwood led all scorers with 20 points for SLU. With three games remaining in the regular season, the Livingston, Louisiana native is 27 points shy of becoming the 20
th student-athlete to score 1,000 career points.

Bre Warren added 13 points for SLU, while Stewart scored nine in her second-to-last home game as a Lady Lion. Sophomore guard
Ashailee Brailey grabbed a team-high seven rebounds, while sophomore guard
Jaclyn Scholvin led SLU with three assists and three steals.
Stephen F. Austin was led by Taylor Ross, who finished with a team-high 19 points. Lovisa Brunnberg came off the bench with five three-point field goals on the way to 18 points. Stevi Parker joined her teammates in double figures with 11 points to go with her game-high nine rebounds.
Southeastern took an early lead, as Brailey netted a three to take a 12-10 lead. SFA answered with an 18-2 run to take a 28-14 lead heading into the second quarter. The Ladyjacks would stretch the lead to 50-28 at the half.
Southeastern would get as close as 15 midway through the third quarter, as Stewart cut the lead to 54-39 with 5:50 remaining. SFA outscored SLU, 21-7, the rest of the quarter to take a 75-46 lead into the final period. The Lady Lions would get no closer than 28 over the final 10 minutes.
Southeastern will close out its 2016-17 home schedule next Wednesday, hosting Central Arkansas for a 5:30 p.m. contest in the University Center. The game can be heard live in the Hammond area on KSLU-FM (90.9), online at
