Many activities set for this month's Lions and Lady Lion home games

12/6/2017 3:31:00 PM

HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana University Athletics will host several events in conjunction with the five men's and women's basketball games in the month of December.

The Lions will host Southern-N.O. on Dec. 14 at 7 p.m., welcome Grambling for a 2 p.m. contest on Dec. 16 and open Southland Conference play versus Stephen F. Austin on Dec. 28 at 7 p.m. The women's squad will return home after playing seven straight on the road and host UL Lafayette on Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. before closing out its non-conference schedule with a 2 p.m. contest versus Alabama A&M on Dec. 21.

For all five games, the Southeastern Athletics Ticket Office and Southeastern Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will collect non-perishable food items at the Gate 3 entrance to the University Center. The items will be donated to the Tangi Food Pantry, a non-profit organization that provides nutritious groceries to over 44,000 individuals and families in need.

The Southeastern Athletics Marketing and Promotions will host Academy Youth Nights for the home games on Dec. 13 and 14. For those games, all fans 12 and under will receive free admission and $3 tickets will be available for all middle, junior high and high school students that present a local school ID at the Gate 3 ticket booth. For both games, Southeastern Athletics will also be giving out SLU paraphernalia courtesy of Academy Sports and Outdoors.

For the home games on Dec. 13, Dec. 14, Dec. 21 and Dec. 28, fans will have an opportunity to receive free food via the Cane's Challenge. If the Lady Lions score 50 points or more or the Lions reach 60 points or more, fans can take their game ticket or student coupon to their local participating Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers to receive a free combo with the purchase of another of equal or greater value.

Fans who can't attend the games will have plenty of different options to keep up with the Lions and Lady Lions. The Dec. 13 and 14 games will be broadcast live on the award-winning Southeastern Channel, streamed by the Southland Digital Network at www.southland.org/live and air on a tape-delay on Cox Sports Television.

The Dec. 13, 14, 16 and 21 games can also be heard in the Hammond area on KSLU-FM (90.9), online at www.LionSports.net/listenlive and via the TuneIn Radio app. LionVision subscribers will be able to access a live video stream of the Dec. 16, 21 and 28 contests at www.LionSports.net/watch.

PRIDE will also provide the first 150 fans at the two home women's basketball games with trading cards featuring that game's Spotlight Player(s) of the Game. Fans will receive trading cards featuring sophomore guard Charliee Dugas for the Dec. 13 contest and both junior guard Rhomyia Tate and freshman forward Lauren Bush on Dec. 21.

Both the men's and women's basketball teams will be in action on the road before returning home. On Sunday, the Lady Lions will close out a seven-game road swing with a 2 p.m. contest at TCU that will be televised regionally on Fox Sports Southwest. The Lions' Dec. 12 game at Central Florida will tip-off at 6 p.m. on ESPN3.
