NEW ORLEANS, La. – Southeastern Louisiana dropped a Southland Conference volleyball match Tuesday, 25-23, 22-25, 25-15, 25-16, at in-state rival New Orleans.
The Lady Lions (3-26, 1-14 Southland) rallied a couple times in the opening set, but fell short.
Southeastern continued the fight in the second set, jumping out to a six-point advantage, 10-4, over the Privateers (12-15, 6-9 Southland). Building its lead to double digits, 21-11, the Lady Lions held off a late UNO charge to claim the second set.
The Privateers rebounded after intermission to put away the match in four.
NOTES
- Elyssa Purcell (Alvin, Texas) led the way for Southeastern offensively with nine kills. Savannah Alcazar (League City, Texas) and Chloee Holden (Alvin) added eight and seven kills, respectively.
- Haley Baker (Elkton, Maryland) handed out a team-leading 18 assists and Michelle Mirarchi (Plano, Texas) dished out an additional 15 for the Lady Lions.
- Alcazar and Lexie Torres (San Antonio, Texas) each recorded a team-high 12 digs.
