CINCINNATI, Ohio – Cincinnati outscored Southeastern Louisiana, 22-5, in the second quarter on the way to an 82-43 victory in non-conference women's basketball action Wednesday night at St. Ursula Academy Gymnasium and Convocation Center.
Southeastern (0-3) continued a seven-game road trip with Wednesday's contest. The Bearcats (2-1) shot 61.2 percent (30-for-49) from the floor to extend the visiting Lady Lions' search for their first win of the 2017-18 season.

Tyler Morrison also led the Lady Lions with two steals apiece. Southeastern could not overcome 22 turnovers and a 21.1 percent (12-for-57) field goal percentage.
All 13 Bearcats that saw the floor scored. The balanced attack was led by sophomore guard Antoinette Miller (16 points) and freshman forward Iimar'i Thomas (15 points, 10 rebounds).
The teams played to a standstill for the majority of the first quarter. Morrison tied the score at 14-14 with 2:06 left in the opening period. Cincinnati scored the final eight points of the first quarter to end the period with a 22-14 advantage.
The Bearcats took over in the second quarter, scoring the first 14 points of the period. SLU was held to 6.7 percent (1-for-15) field goal shooting in the quarter and went into halftime trailing, 44-19.
The third quarter was more competitive, as Cincinnati held a narrow 20-17 advantage during the period and went into the final quarter with a 64-36 lead. In the final quarter, SLU went cold again, making just 7.1 percent (1-for-14) of their attempts from the floor, as the Bearkats pulled away for a 39-point victory.
Wednesday's contest was the first of three games in four days for the Lady Lions, who will compete in the Akron Classic on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, SLU will face the host Zips at 6:30 p.m. before facing Kent State at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Both tip-off times are Central and Friday's game will be televised on ESPN3.
