NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Southeastern Louisiana travels to second-place Stephen F. Austin for a 6:30 p.m. Southland Conference volleyball match Tuesday in Shelton Gym.
 
The Lady Lions (2-19, 0-7 Southland), who have dropped their last two matches against SFA (18-6, 6-1 Southland), are looking to rebound from a heartbreaking loss Saturday at the hands of in-state rival New Orleans.

• Elyssa Purcell served up a career best nine aces in the Lady Lions' match Saturday against UNO and now ranks fourth in the Southland in aces per set (0.36).
• Savannah Alcazar recorded a career-high 16 kills against the Privateers, turning in her second double-double of the season.
• Michelle Mirarchi also posted her third double double of the season (18 assists, 10 digs) last time out.
• Junior libero Lexie Torres (San Antonio, Texas) ranks 10th in the Southland in digs (3.59 per set).
• Alcazar (League City, Texas) leads seven Lady Lions averaging at least one kill per set (2.28). Alvin, Texas, natives Chloee Holden (1.86) and Elyssa Purcell (1.79) are next.
• Southeastern set a season high with 12 service aces Saturday, topping the previous high of 10 set in Tuesday's match at Lamar.
• Steadily improving, the Lady Lions' .221 attack percentage against UNO was their second best of the season and the 72 points recorded by Southeastern was the second most the Lady Lions have recorded this season, trailing only the 75 points attained against Alabama State.
• Southeastern is averaging 10.48 kills with a .129 attack percentage, 9.69 assists, 13.45 digs and 1.34 blocks per set. Opponents are averaging 13.41 kills with a .248 attack percentage, 12.69 assists, 15.18 digs and 2.32 blocks per set.

Picked to finish second in the Southland's preseason poll and currently in second place, one game out of first … libero Lexus Cain (first team) and setter Ann Hollas (second team) were named to the preseason All-Conference squad …the Ladyjacks are the top hitting team in the conference with a .256 attack percentage, while players Makenzee Hanna (.347) ranks second and Danae Daron (.319) ranks sixth … SFA is averaging 12.82 kills with a .256 attack percentage, 11.82 assists, 16.17 digs and 2.12 blocks per set.
 
UP NEXT
Southeastern returns to its home court, opening a four-match homestand Thursday against Central Arkansas. The homestand will close out the home portion of the Lady Lions' 2017 schedule.
 
Thursday, Southeastern will celebrate Smoot Fever Night. Fans are encouraged to wear their favorite Hawaiian shirt similar to the traditional match day garb of Southeastern head coach Jim Smoot. Prizes will be awarded for the best shirt.
 
Saturday, the Lady Lions host Northwestern State at 1 p.m. in the University Center. The conference contest is earmarked as the annual Dig Pink match, dedicated to breast cancer awareness. All fans are encouraged to wear pink.
