SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Southeastern Louisiana men's golf team will look to build off a strong finish to the fall season when it opens its spring schedule Sunday at the UTSA/Oak Hills Intercollegiate at Oak Hills Country Club.

 "Yes, we want to go out and play good," first-year Southeastern head coach
Jake Narro said. "Of course. But nobody has played in a golf tournament in six or eight weeks. We need to feel those nerves again and start that engine back up again. I'm going to be watching the guys and seeing what we need to do going forward. I'm building and this is where it starts."
   A practice round and college amateur will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. First and second rounds will begin Monday with a shotgun start at 8 p.m. Tuesday's 18-hole final round is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m.

   Southeastern, which comes into the spring ranked 133
rd in the Golfweek Collegiate Rankings with a scoring average of 73.50 in three fall events, will square off against a field that includes 10
th-ranked Oklahoma and No. 47 and defending tournament champion Baylor. Also in the field are top 100 teams North Texas (69
th), McNeese State (78
th), Missouri-Kansas City (92
nd) and Louisiana-Lafayette (97), as well as host UTSA, Southland Conference rivals Houston Baptist and Sam Houston State, in-state rival Louisiana Tech, Texas State, Tulsa, Wichita State and Southern Miss.
   Southeastern had a trio of top 10 finishes in the fall, culminating in a sixth-place finish at the LSU/David Toms Intercollegiate in Baton Rouge. Â
   Junior James Antiss led the Lions with a 72.67 scoring average. Junior
Paul Obermann had Southeastern's highest finish, tying for 12
th at the David Toms while finishing the fall with a 73.56 average. Senior
Lawrence Allan recorded a 73.89 average and junior
Gustavo Leon a 75.00. Freshman
William Meyers had a 74.83 average and senior
Eamon Bradley a 76.17 while each playing two events.
