However, JSU outscored Southeastern, 11-2, the rest of the half. A dagger three by Wiggins from well behind the arc in the final seconds sent the Tigers into the break with a 45-38 halftime lead.
Another quarter-closing run allowed Jackson State to put it away in the third quarter. After a three-point play by Warren cut the JSU lead to 60-49 with 3:15 remaining in the period. The lead would stretch to as much as 21 in the waning minutes. Southeastern would never get closer than 16 the rest of the way, falling for the third straight contest.
