WACO, Texas – The Southeastern Louisiana women's basketball team were no match for national power Baylor, as the No. 5 Lady Bears pulled away for a 109-38 victory in non-conference women's basketball action Tuesday night in the Ferrell Center.
Southeastern (1-3) fell to the nationally-ranked Lady Bears (4-1) for the sixth straight time. Baylor out-rebounded the Lady Lions, 43-14, and attempted 50 free throws on the way to the victory.
"I can't fault our team's effort tonight," Southeastern head coach
Errol Gauff said. "(Hammond native and Baylor head coach) Kim Mulkey has built a tremendous program. It was an outstanding opportunity for our team to play a great program and see what kind of program we're trying to build every day at Southeastern."

Taylin Underwood led Southeastern with nine points, as 10 different Lady Lions scored. Junior guard

Jaclyn Scholvin added six points apiece for SLU. Sophomore wing
Ashailee Brailey led Southeastern with four assists.

Baylie Stears led the Lady Lions with two steals each. Underwood also led the Lady Lions with three rebounds.
Alexis Jones hit 6-of-7 three-point field goals and led four Bears in double figures with 24 points. Jones was joined by Lauren Cox (21 points), Beatrice Mompremier (18 points) and Alexis Prince (10 points).
An Underwood three gave Southeastern an early 3-2 lead, but Baylor answered by scoring the next seven points to take a 9-3 lead. The Lady Bears built a 28-12 lead at the end of the first quarter and pulled away by outscoring the Lady Lions, 28-7, in the second quarter.
Southeastern will return home on Friday to host Bethune-Cookman at 1 p.m. in the University Center. Freshmen guards
