CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Southeastern Louisiana rallied from a 14-point deficit to start the fourth quarter but Texas A&M-Corpus Christi was able to escape with a 69-67 Southland Conference victory Thursday night at the Dugan Wellness Center.
   The Lady Lions took a pair of two-point leads in the final two minutes but a Camesha Davis layup with 19 seconds left gave the Islanders the lead for good. TAMCC (4-13, 1-5) broke an 11-game losing streak while Southeastern (3-14, 2-4) dropped its second straight overall and 14
th straight conference road game.

Taylin Underwood scored a career-high 27 points behind eight 3-pointers to lead Southeastern.
Kyle Felton also tied her career high with 10 points while grabbing six rebounds.
Nanna Pool had eight points and a team-high eight rebounds while KaeLynn Underwood had a career-high nine assists. The Lady Lions shot 38.1 percent from the field and out-rebounded the Islanders 39-37.
   Shola Adebayo and Shay Weaver each had 15 points for TAMCC. Davis had a game-high 10 rebounds to go with nine points. The Islanders shot 38.3 percent from the field, including 43.8 percent in the first half.
   Davis blocked a layup attempt by
Dani Fielder with 11 seconds left. Brittany Mbamalu got the rebound and was fouled and hit both free throws to make it 68-64 with nine seconds remaining. Following a Southeastern timeout, Underwood hit a 3-pointer from the top of the key off the inbounds from
Erica Hernandez, cutting the margin to 68-67 with 6 seconds left.
   Adebayo was immediately fouled and hit the second of two free throws with 6 seconds left. Underwood raced the ball downcourt and launched up a 3 from about four feet beyond the arc but had it go off the backboard. Jennifer Ramirez grabbed the rebound as time expired.
   Southeastern opened the fourth quarter on an 18-4 run as Underwood hit three 3s. Felton scored off a pass from Pool to tie the game at 60 with three minutes left. A pair of Boyd free throws gave the Lady Lions their first lead since early in the first quarter with 1:51 left. After Uri Jolivette tied it with two free throws, Southeastern took its final lead at 64-62 as Pool scored off a pass from Boyd with 1:15 remaining. Adebayo tied it again with two free throws with 58 seconds remaining.
   TAMCC led 36-31 at the half. After a Pool layup made it 36-34 at the 8:19 mark, the Islanders went on a 14-4 run behind 3s by Adebayo and Kassie Jones. Another Jones 3 with 7 seconds left gave TAMCC a 54-40 lead going into the final quarter.
   For the third straight game, a Southeastern opponent came out sizzling from the field as TAMCC jumped out to a 22-15 first-quarter lead. A 3 by Underwood gave the Lady Lions a 5-4 lead at the 7:48 mark but Adebayo answered with a 3 to give the Islanders a lead they would not relinquish until the fourth quarter. A Mykayla Flores jumper made it a seven-point lead going into the second quarter.
   TAMCC went up by 10 twice in the second period, the second time at 29-19 on a three-point play by Kre'Ana Henry with 6:53 left. A Felton jumper and 3s by Underwood and Hernandez pulled Southeastern to within 29-27 at the 4:19 mark. The Islanders went back up 36-29 on a 3 by Mbamalu with 1:37 left but a
Chey Stewart layup made it a 36-31 game at the half.
   Southeastern continues its four-game road trip with a visit to McNeese State Wednesday. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
