Lions Seventh After Suspended Day One at Windon Memorial

Obermann (T8th, -2) leads Lions

GLENCOE, Ill. – The Southeastern Louisiana men's golf team shot a two-under par 282 in the second round to bounce back from a shaky opening round on the opening day of the Windon Memorial Sunday at the Lake Shore Country Club.

The Lions finished the day in seventh place at eight-over par after carding a 10-over par 294 in the second round. Three teams were on the final hole when play was suspended on Sunday, so only results from the opening round are official. The second round will finish at 7:30 a.m. with the final 18 holes teeing off at 8 a.m. Live results, provided by host Northwestern, will be accessible at LionSports.net.

Southeastern was led on Sunday by junior Paul Obermann, who posted back-to-back rounds of 70 to sit in a tie for eighth place at two-under par. Obermann was the lone Lion to shoot under par in both rounds on the par-71, 6,844-yard course in the Chicago suburbs.

All four of Obermann's teammates improved from the first round to the second round. Junior James Anstiss is tied for 18th after backing up his opening round 73 with a 70 over the final 18 holes. Junior Gustavo Leon was one stroke higher than Anstiss in the opening round and matched his one-under par in round two to finish the day tied for 27th.

Senior Lawrence Allan and freshman William Meyers each were one-over par in the second round after struggling over the first 18 holes. Allan (+7) sits in a tie for 59th place, while Meyers, competing in just his second collegiate tournament, (+12) is in 72nd place.

Purdue leads by eight strokes after finishing the day 15-under par. The Boilermakers' Stuart McDonald leads the individual standings at seven-under par.
