HAMMOND – The Southeastern Louisiana women's soccer team overwhelmed in-state foe Southern, 5-0, in non-conference action Tuesday night at Strawberry Stadium.
The Lady Lions improved to 3-1 overall with the victory. Southern remained winless in 2015, falling to 0-4 on the season.

"We came out from the start aggressive and our outside backs did a nice job getting us into the attack early," Southeastern head coach
Blake Hornbuckle said. "We were able to get some different looks and see what some people could do in different situations for us.
"Gisenia was great at distributing and getting us into the attack," Hornbuckle continued. "Sofia did a great job up top pressuring the ball and created several opportunities. (Junior)
Katie Noonan was all over the field, cutting out their options winning balls. Marisa continues to shine. She opens us up with width, utilizes her attributes to look to go to goal and was able to finish another one today."
Southern sophomore goalkeeper Kendra Lewis made several nice saves early before Southeastern broke through in the 24
th minute. Maxwell found Cutura along the left side and the Pearl River, Louisiana native netted her first collegiate goal to give SLU a 1-0 lead.
Less than three minutes later, SLU doubled its lead. Olsson played a ball ahead to Utreras, who outran the last line of defense, then beat Lewis to give the Lady Lions a 2-0 advantage heading into halftime.
Southeastern scored two quick goals in a 38-second span to break the match open midway through the second half. Zadro played a corner kick short to Ramsey, who ripped a shot from 18 yards out to give the Lady Lions a 3-0 lead.
Still in the 66
th minute, Rodrigues hit a shot from the same side but even further out off a pass from Kresevic. The San Ramon, California native's team-high third goal of the fall put SLU on top, 4-0.
Arazaluz closed out the scoring with the second goal of her debut season in the 73
rd minute. Kresevic played a ball back to the Sparks, Nevada native, who tucked a shot inside the near post from close range to provide the final margin.
Southeastern will be back in action on Friday, traveling to Arkansas State for a 4 p.m. match.
