Lacour, Adkinson Represent SLU on Southland All-Tournament Team

Lady Lion duo helped Lady Lions to semifinals

NATCHITOCHES – After helping the Southeastern Louisiana softball team advance to the Southland Conference Tournament semifinals, junior outfielder Katie Lacour and senior pitcher Spencer Adkinson were named to the Southland Conference All-Tournament Team.

The tournament wrapped up on Friday at the Lady Demon Diamond. Third-seeded Central Arkansas completed a clean sweep of the tournament, defeating top-seeded Northwestern State, 4-2, in Friday's championship game and earning the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Lacour, a native of Port St. Joe, Florida, was the tournament's top hitter for average, hitting .625 (5-for-8) with three walks and three runs scored. The first two-time first team All-Southland performer in school history finished the 2015 season with single-season school records of a .484 batting average, 89 hits and 46 runs scored, while also setting career school records with 203 hits and 99 runs scored.

In her final start as a Lady Lion, Adkinson pitched SLU to a 5-0 victory over McNeese State on Thursday. The Headland, Alabama native held the second-seeded Cowgirls to one hit in a complete-game effort. The shutout was her second of the season.

Led by tournament MVP Kylee Studioso, UCA placed a league-high five players on the All-Tournament team. Northwestern State had three selections, while SLU and Lamar had two selections apiece.
