HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana golf team will return to action this week for its second tournament of the spring, participating in the Louisiana Classics at the Oakbourne Country Club in Lafayette.
The tournament will open with the first two rounds on Monday at 8 a.m. followed by the final two rounds on Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. Live stats and live video, provided by host Louisiana-Lafayette, will be accessible at LionSports.net.
No. 49 SLU will be one of top Golf Week top 100 teams in the field that also includes No. 1 Illinois. In addition to the Lions and Fighting Illini, No. 45 Northwestern, No. 66 South Alabama, No. 73 Kansas, No. 80 UTSA, No. 88 Texas State and No. 99 Kent State are the other top national teams traveling to southwest Louisiana.
The host Ragin' Cajuns will be joined by five other teams to round out the field. Kansas State, Southern Miss, Mississippi State and Illinois State will also tackle the Par-72, 7,068-yard course over the next two days.

Brame (-3, T7th) was the top finisher at the spring season opener at the Bayou City Intercollegiate a little over a week ago. Anstiss carded a final round 66 in his first SLU tournament, to join Brame in the top 10 (-2, T10th).
To be successful at the Louisiana Classics, SLU will need to play the type of golf it did in the final 36 holes in the season opener in Houston. The Lions bounced back from a 14-over par opening round to shoot nine-under over the final two days, finishing the tournament in sixth place.
Following this week's tournament, Southeastern will compete in the Border Olympics on March 13-14 in Laredo, Texas.
