THIBODAUX, La. – Southeastern Louisiana hit a season-high 15 three-point field goals and had five players score in double figures, but it was not enough in a 93-80 loss to Nicholls in Southland Conference women's basketball action Saturday afternoon at Stopher Gymnasium.
Southeastern (7-16, 3-9 Southland) lost their fourth straight game and fell to 0-12 this season on the road, despite nearly matching the single-game school record of 16 three-point field goals set at Ole Miss during the 2008-09 season. Nicholls (13-10, 9-3 Southland) countered with five players in double figures of its own on the way to its sixth consecutive win.

Jameika Hoskins led SLU with 14 points, six rebounds and three steals. Hoskins was joined in double figures by senior guard

Elizabeth Styles led Southeastern with five assists.
Nicholls was led by Tia Charles, who finished with a game-high 20 points, five assists and four steals. Charles was joined in double figures by teammates Jenny Nash (19 points), Emani White (16 points), Hope Pawlowski (15 points) and Marina Lilly (10 points). Lilly also led the Colonels with seven rebounds, as Nicholls finished with a 41-30 rebounding advantage.
Southeastern hit nine three-pointers in the opening half and led by as many as 11 points early on. However, Nicholls closed the half on a 10-2 run to cut the halftime deficit to 47-46.
NSU opened the half with an 11-2 run to permanently take control of the game. The second half lead would balloon to 20 with just under five minutes to play before SLU closed the final margin to 13.
Southeastern will return home to host UNO on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the University Center. Thursday's game will be broadcast live in the Hammond area on KSLU-FM (90.9) and on the Internet at
