HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana volleyball squad returns to the University Center for the final time this season, hosting Central Arkansas at 7 p.m. Thursday in a Southland Conference match.
Southeastern (12-17, 6-9 Southland), which has qualified for the Southland Conference Volleyball Tournament for the second-consecutive season, faces the Sugar Bears (15-11, 11-3 Southland) for Smoot Fever Night.
Fans are encouraged to wear their best tropical attire in honor of head coach
Jim Smoot while enjoying tropical-themed contests and music.
Admission to all home volleyball matches is free this season. Southeastern students and campus organizations can earn points toward their new Lion Up Loyalty account at the match just by checking-in on the mobile app while in attendance.

Last time out the Lady Lions dropped a heartbreaking five-set decision at rival Nicholls, 21-25, 20-25, 27-25, 25-17, 15-4.
Landry Bullock (3.08 kills per set),
Sarah Friedman (2.41 k/set) and
Parrie Hartley (2.05 k/set) pace the Lady Lion offense this season under the direction of
Mikayla Shippy (6.61 assists per set) and
Haley Baker (5.72 a/set). Bullock ranks 10th in the conference in kills and Shippy is 10th in assists. Freshman
Monica Ramon leads the team with 31 service aces.
Brooke Balser (3.51 d/set), Ramon (2.99 digs per set) and
Madi Odom (2.20 d/set) anchor the back row defensively.
Veronica Turk (0.74 b/set) and
Rachael Bunn (0.57 b/set) lead Southeastern's front-line defensive effort.
Central Arkansas had a six-match winning streak snapped this past Saturday at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 25-20, 25-11, 25-14.
Heather Schnars (4.20 k/set, 54 service aces) and Amy South (9.48 a/set) lead the Sugar Bear offense. Megan Nash (1.26 b/set) and Samantha Anderson (0.99 b/set) are the team's top blockers. Allie Kemp (3.75 d/set) and Schnars (2.47 d/set) are Central Arkansas' top defenders along the back row.
Southeastern returns to action Nov. 20 in the Southland Conference Volleyball Tournament against No. 1-seeded A&M-Corpus Christi.
