TULSA, Okla. – The Southeastern Louisiana men's basketball team dropped a 71-54 decision in Southland Conference play Saturday to Oral Roberts in front of 6,035 homecoming attendees at the Mabee Center.

Southeastern (9-13, 4-7 Southland) has dropped all three games against Oral Roberts (12-12, 6-5 Southland) since the Golden Eagles entered the conference.

The Lions struggled offensively in the first half, converting just 7-of-31 shots (22.6 percent), and trailed ORU 33-18 at halftime. In the second half Southeastern doubled its output, but couldn't erase the first-half deficit.

ORU extended its advantage to 20, at 43-23, on a free throw by Kory Billbury with 15:13 remaining. Southeastern cut the Golden Eagle lead down to 49-40, with 7:50 remaining, on a pair of JaMichael Hawkins free throws, but ORU would push its lead back to 19 points in the final minutes of play.

The Southeastern bench outscored ORU's reserves 23-5 in the game, led by Onochie Ochie's 12 points and team-high six rebounds. Dre Evans led the Lions with 13 points.

Shawn Glover, who recorded a double-double (21 points, 11 rebounds), and Billbury (21 points) led all players in scoring. Bobby Word added 16 points for the Golden Eagles, who finished the game 20-of-52 from the floor (38.5 percent) as a team.

Southeastern returns home next week to host McNeese State (Feb. 13) and Nicholls State (Feb. 15). Thursday's game will be a Cane's Challenge night while the Nicholls State contest is Take A Kid To The Game Day. All children, age 12 and under, will be admitted free to that contest with a paid adult admission.
