HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana volleyball team dropped a three-set, Southland Conference match Thursday at the University Center, 25-20, 25-22, 25-10.

Southeastern (6-9, 0-3 Southland) went toe-to-toe with one of the best defensive teams in the conference for the first two sets before UCA (11-3, 3-0 Southland) pulled away.

The Sugar Bears recorded a .235 attack percentage for the match, holding Southeastern to .056. UCA entered the contest just ahead of the Lady Lions defensively.

Freshman Parrie Hartley tallied 10 kills (.292 attack percentage) and Rachael Bunn added six kills (.462, four total blocks) for the Lady Lions. Mikayla Shippy dished out 23 assists. Megan McMillin (14 digs) and Morgan Todd (12 digs) anchored the back row.

The Sugar Bears' Heather Schnars tied Hartley with a match-high 10 kills. Reigning Southland offensive player of the week Jessica Nagy posted nine kills, without an error, to hit .750 for the match. Marissa Collins handed out 30 assists, recording a double-double, to go with 11 digs. Shelbee Berringer led all players with 15 digs.

Southeastern returns to action Saturday at 2 p.m. against Oral Roberts (11-2, 3-0 Southland) in the University Center. The Golden Eagles swept through a three-set decision Thursday at New Orleans.
