Box Score HAMMOND, La. – Stephen F. Austin snapped the Southeastern Louisiana volleyball team's four-match win streak Thursday with a straight-sets victory in Southland Conference play, 25-20, 25-20, 25-15.
Southeastern (11-17, 4-11 Southland) battled valiantly in the first two sets, but SFA (15-13, 7-8 Southland) pulled away in the third for the win. The loss also ended Southeastern's hopes of a Southland Conference Tournament bid.
Rachael Bunn and
Veronica Turk posted 10 kills each.
Elizabeth Ramee added eight kills and
Mikayla Shippy dished out a game-high 35 assists. Bunn recorded four total blocks and
Morgan Todd led the Lady Lions with 16 digs.
Jill Ivy and Justice Walker led all players with 12 kills each for the Ladyjacks. Jacque Allen added eight kills while Paige Holland handed out 34 assists. OJ Olsen, the SFA libero, led all players with 20 digs.
The Lady Lions face Northwestern State (17-10, 13-2 Southland) at 2 p.m. in Saturday's Senior Day contest.
