Lady Lions Conclude Season On Road

Southeastern faces Oral Roberts, Central Arkansas to wrap up season

TULSA, Okla. – The Southeastern Louisiana volleyball team concludes its 2013 season this weekend with a pair of Southland Conference road contests.

Southeastern (11-18, 4-12 Southland) is at Oral Roberts (20-6, 12-4 Southland) for a 7 p.m. first serve Thursday before traveling to Central Arkansas (24-3, 16-0 Southland) for Saturday's season finale. The Lady Lions' match at UCA is scheduled for 2 p.m.

Streaming video and live stats are available for both matches. Links for both are available on the volleyball schedule page at www.LionSports.net. Video for Thursday's contest will be through Oral Roberts while Saturday's season finale will be available for LionVision subscribers, courtesy UCA.

The Lady Lion offense is led by Tiffany Thomas (2.85 kills per set), Landry Bullock (2.38 k/set), Parrie Hartley (2.34 k/set), Rachael Bunn (2.12 k/set, .328 attack percentage) and Mikayala Shippy (9.30 assists per set). Bunn is third in the Southland in attack percentage while Shippy is sixth in assists.

Veronica Turk (0.88 blocks per set), Bunn (0.82 b/set), Shelby Devlin (0.71 b/set) and Morgan Todd (4.41 digs per set) lead Lady Lion defensive effort. Southeastern is sixth in the conference in blocks (2.02/set) and fifth in opponent hitting percentage (.173). Todd is sixth in digs.

The ORU offense is led by Sara Pope (3.71 k/set), Luara Rosa (2.21 k/set), McKenna Qualls (2.20 k/set) and Laura Taylor (10.29 a/set). Jessica Pancratz (1.07 b/set), Jovana Poljasevic (1.01 b/set), Bruna Silva (5.22 d/set) and Sthephanie Mab (2.12 d/set) anchor the Golden Eagle defense.

ORU has won three of its last four contests, falling at home to UCA Nov. 9. Meanwhile UCA has won its last 17 matches heading into its Thursday contest with the University of New Orleans.

Heather Schnars (3.44 k/set), Jessica Nagy (3.05 k/set), Kyle Hartman (2.70 k/set) and Marissa Collins (12.10 a/set) pace the offensive attack for UCA. Paige Gantar (0.69 b/set), Fulani Petties (0.62 b/set), Alicia Dittrich (0.61 b/set) and Shelbee Berringer (4.82 d/set) key the defense.
