Box Score HAMMOND, La. – Despite powering through a hotly-contested second set, the Southeastern Louisiana volleyball team came up short Saturday against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in a Southland Conference match.
The Islanders (12-7, 7-1 Southland) picked up the four-set decision, 25-17, 28-30, 25-13, 25-10.
Mikayla Shippy earned her third-straight double-double (31 assists, 10 digs) and fifth of the season.
Landry Bullock led Southeastern (6-14, 0-8 Southland) with 14 kills.
Morgan Todd's 19 digs paced the defense and
Megan McMillin added 12 for the Lady Lions.
Southeastern posted 12 team blocks with
Tiffany Thomas (six total blocks),
Shelby Devlin (five tb) and
Veronica Turk (five tb) leading the way at the net.
AMCC's Ivy Baresh also recorded a double-double, posting 22 digs and leading all players with 21 kills. Logen Bourque dished out 51 assists while Brianna Brink added 10 kills to the offensive effort. Shayla Maldonado led all defensive players with 34 digs and Megan Olivarez contributed 13 for the Islanders.
Southeastern returns to action Tuesday as they travel to the University of New Orleans for 7 p.m. Southland contest.
