Box Score

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Senior middle blocker Courtney Donald recorded her 1,000th career kill Saturday, but it was not enough to hold off Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in a Southland Conference match.

Donald, seventh on Southeastern's all-time kills list, picked up the momentous spike with her first kill of the day. The native of Tomball, Texas, is ranked in the top-10 of nine-separate Lady Lion career statistical categories.

Southeastern (10-17, 5-12 Southland) dropped its final regular-season road match, 25-11, 25-18, 25-15, to the Islanders (18-9, 10-5 Southland). With the win, A&M-Corpus Christi established a new school record for wins in a season.

Shannon Hullum and Ivy Baresh led the Islanders with 10 and nine kills, respectively. Logen Bourque dished out 23 assists and Micah Nolan posted 17 digs.

Donald and Veronica Turk each recorded five kills while Jessica Rauch contributed three to the Lady Lion offensive effort. Setter Becky Bekelja handed out 15 assists, and the duo of Megan McMillin (15 digs) and Morgan Todd (12 digs) each picked up double-digit digs.

Southeastern returns home for its final two matches of the regular season before heading to Conway, Ark., for the Southland Conference Tournament, Nov. 16-18.

The Lady Lions host Texas Southern, Tuesday at 6 p.m., in an election-day, non-conference match. Nicholls State travels to Hammond, La., Nov. 10, for a Senior Day contest that will determine which of the two schools lays claim to the higher tournament seed.

Nicholls dropped a three-set decision at Sam Houston State Saturday, remaining tied with  Southeastern for seventh place in the Southland standings.
