Southeastern Hosts Grambling State In Rescheduled Contest

Postponed by Hurricane Isaac, first serve slated for 7 p.m.

Southeastern hosts Grambling State in a match originally scheduled for August 28th
HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball team hosts Grambling State Tuesday in a non-conference contest originally scheduled for late August.

Postponed by Hurricane Isaac, first serve in the re-scheduled match is slated for 7 p.m. at the University Center.

Southeastern (5-11) dropped a three-set decision Saturday at Nicholls State.

Senior Courtney Donald (3.88 kills per set) is the Lady Lions' top offensive weapon and blocker (46 total blocks).

Veronica Turk (2.49 k/set), Tamra Grayson (1.63 k/set), Shelby Devlin (1.46 k/set) and Becky Bekelja (8.95 assists per set) are also major contributors to the Southeastern offensive effort.

Junior libero Megan McMillin (4.37 digs per set), Bekelja (2.30 d/set), Morgan Todd (2.00 d/set) and Cherish Krohn (1.87 d/set) lend significant support on the defensive end.

Grambling State (0-13) dropped a pair of matches to Alabama State and Jackson State this past Friday.

April Johnson (1.52 k/set), Tiara McIver (1.49 k/set) and Dorothy Brown (1.41 k/set) are the leading hitters for the Lady Tigers. Breonna Loud (2.15 a/set) and Tori Wilson (2.02 a/set) split the setting duties. Chantel McGill (1.95 d/set) is the leading defender.

Southeastern returns to Southland Conference action Thursday at Northwestern State.
