Lady Lions Host Senior Day, Season's Final Home Match

Southeastern faces West Division-leading Texas State

HAMMOND – The Southeastern volleyball teams wraps up the home portion of its 2011 schedule with a Southland Conference contest Saturday against Texas State.

First serve for the Senior Day match is scheduled for noon in the University Center. Live statistics will be available at www.LionSports.net.

Prior to the game, Southeastern will honor three seniors – Chelsea Barr, Arianne Cruckshank and Paige Dollison. Cruckshank enters the match ranked fifth in school history with 1,530 career assists.

Southeastern (5-25, 1-12 Southland) dropped a 3-1 decision to Texas-Arlington Thursday. Dollison led the way for the Lady Lions with a pair of service aces, one solo block and three block assists against the Mavericks.

Courtney Donald is Southeastern's leading hitter (2.21 kills per set) followed by Dollison and Kinsey Williams with 2.12 kills per set apiece.

Megan McMillin is ninth in the conference averaging 3.54 digs per set. Setter Lindsey Young leads the team in assists per set (7.77) and total service aces (30).

Texas State (21-7, 12-1 Southland) is tied for first in the Southland Conference's West Division with Texas-San Antonio. The Bobcats had an 11-match winning streak snapped Tuesday against Baylor.

Last time out, Texas State compiled .333 attack percentage as it defeated Nicholls State Thursday in four sets.

The Bobcats are led by several of the conference's statistical leaders.

Melissa Toth (3.09 k/set) and Amari Deardorff (2.93 k/set) are Texas State's top hitters. Deardorff leads the Southland with a .354 attack percentage and the Bobcats have three additional players averaging at least two kills per set.

Caleig McCorquodale is second in the conference with an average of 10.04 assists per set. Lindy DeGeare leads the Southland in service aces per set (0.63) and Ashlee Hilbun is third in blocks per set (1.14).

Southeastern plays its last two matches of the year on the road, Nov. 10 at Northwestern State and Nov. 12 at Central Arkansas.
