HAMMOND – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's basketball team officially opens the home portion of its 2011-12 schedule on Tuesday when it faces NAIA member Spring Hill College in the University Center.
Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. The game can be heard in the Hammond area on KSLU-FM (90.9) and on the internet at www.LionSports.net.
Southeastern (0-1), which begins a three-game homestand and will play 15 games in the University Center this season, dropped its opener on Sunday at Conference USA members Tulsa, 67-52. The Lions were held to 20-for-56 aim (35.7 percent) from the floor against the Golden Hurricane and 7-for-23 (30.4 percent) from behind the 3-point line.
Brandon Fortenberry scored 19 points to lead Southeastern with
DeShawn Patterson adding 11.

Jan Petrovcic grabbed five rebounds each.
Spring Hill (1-1), which dropped a 76-41 decision at Southern Miss on Saturday in an exhibition game, opened the season with a loss to Tougaloo (Miss.) before an 84-82 win over Southern-New Orleans last Thursday.
Jake Thelen has averaged 18.5 points in the Badgers' first two games with Todd Martin averaging 14.0. Brett Williams (9.5), Ricky Sears (9.0), Tyler Schwab (6.0) and former St. Thomas Aquinas and Southeastern letterwinner Stephen Burches (5.0) are the other top players for Spring Hill.
The game will mark the 50th meeting between the schools with Southeastern holding a 32-17 lead. The Lions claimed the last meeting on the hardwood, 83-57, on Dec. 1, 2009.
Southeastern will continue its homestand on Saturday when it faces in-state rival Louisiana-Monroe at 6 p.m. before facing Blue Mountain (Miss.) College on Nov. 21 at 7 p.m.
