HAMMOND – The Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball team continues its four-match homestand on Tuesday when it faces in-state rival Nicholls State in a Southland Conference match at the University Center.

Southeastern (4-17, 0-4 Southland) returns to action after dropping matches at home last weekend to Northwestern State and Central Arkansas. The Lady Lions face Nicholls State (14-6, 1-3 Southland) for the first time this season before concluding their homestand on Saturday against Stephen F. Austin in a 2 p.m. contest.
Courtney Donald (2.35 kills per set),
Kinsey Williams (2.25 kps) and
Paige Dollison (2.08 kps) are the top three hitters for Southeastern with
Lindsey Young pacing the Lady Lions with 7.39 assists per set.
Young, who needs two assists to pass former Lady Lion Dee Dee Thibodeaux (1,005 assists from 1984-86) for 10th place in school history, is seventh in the Southland Conference with 23 service aces.
Megan McMillin leads Southeastern, and is ranked ninth in the Southland Conference, with 3.51 digs per set followed by Young (2.46),
Taylor Buckner (2.34) and
Arianne Cruckshank (2.21).
Nicholls State has dropped its last three matches after a 13-match win streak. The Lady Colonels dropped three-set contests against Lamar and Central Arkansas before a four-set loss to Northwestern State on Saturday.
Jennifer Brandt leads Nicholls State with 2.48 kills per set with Kathryn Stock and Rachel Yezak averaging 2.26 each. Jordan Karst paces the Lady Colonels with 6.83 assists per set while Yezak averages a team-high 3.09 digs per set.
Nicholls State leads the all-time series between the schools, 43-32, including a pair of four-set victories last season.
