Lady Lions, Bearkats Set To Tangle

Southeastern Wraps Up Southland Road Trip

HAMMOND – The Southeastern volleyball team wraps up a four-match road trip Saturday with a Southland Conference contest at Sam Houston State.

First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. and live statistics, courtesy SHSU, will be available at www.LionSports.net.

The Lady Lions (4-22, 0-9 Southland) dropped a hard-fought match last time out at Nicholls State. The Colonels forced a fifth set and Southeastern led 15-14, but NSU came from behind to take the set and the match.

Courtney Donald, a graduate of nearby Tomball (Texas) High, leads all Southeastern hitters with 213 total kills. Paige Dollison (191 kills), Elizabeth Ramee (175 kills) and Kinsey Williams (171 kills) follow for the Lady Lions.

Lindsey Young is averaging 7.81 assists per set for Southeastern and Megan McMillin's 3.46 digs per set ranks ninth in the Southland.

The Bearkats' (12-10, 6-3 Southland) three-match conference win streak was snapped Saturday by Texas State, 3-0. SHSU enters the Southeastern match third in the Southland Conference's East Division.

Carli Kolbe leads SHSU and the Southland will 3.86 kills per set and is tenth with 3.29 digs per set. Kym Loving ranks third with 9.85 assists per set and her 0.34 service aces per set are fifth-best in the conference. Kim Black's 1.16 blocks per set are third-best in the Southland.

Southeastern returns home Thursday to host Lamar in the University Center.
