LAKE CHARLES – Allison Jones and
Courtney Donald each recorded a team-high seven kills while
Alex Greer had a team-high nine digs, but the Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball team fell to hot-hitting McNeese State, 25-14, 25-16, 25-18 in a Southland Conference match Thursday at Memorial Gym.
Southeastern, which continues its four-match road trip on Saturday at Lamar, fell to 10-18 overall and 1-10 in the Southland Conference. McNeese State improved to 11-15 overall and 5-6 in league play.
Priscilla Massengale led McNeese State, which hit .372 for the match, with 11 kills. Nicole Bowden added nine kills while Erin Huckaby and Taylor Bustamento had seven kills each. Becky Bekelja recorded 33 assists and 10 digs for the Cowgirls while Katie Kennedy posted a match-high 11 digs with Whitney Ellisor adding 10.
Donald hit a team-high .429 at the net to lead Southeastern while Jones posted a .375 hitting percentage. Freshman
Lindsey Young led the Lady Lions with 22 assists and added eight digs while
Chelsea Barr added eight digs.
