HAMMOND – The Southeastern Louisiana women's volleyball team will return on action on Tuesday, traveling to Baton Rouge to face in-state rival Southern at 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday's match will be the only match of the week for the Lady Lions (1-6). Last week, Southeastern opened its home schedule with a 3-0 victory over Alcorn State, before falling to Texas Tech, UNO and Bowling Green at last weekend's Radisson New Orleans Airport Privateer Invitational Tournament.

Offensively, Southeastern is hitting .109 as a team, as freshman Alexis Braghini leads the team's top attackers with a .210 hitting percentage. Freshman Kaprice Glover (1.82 kills per set), senior Lauren Mayer (1.79 kps), Braghini (1.76 kps) and freshman Taylor Buckner (1.72 kps) are the top attackers for the Lady Lions.

Senior Katie Collins leads the team with 4.50 assists per set. Junior Alex Greer is tops on the squad with 2.76 digs per set and nine service aces. Senior Julie Elliott leads the team with six blocks.

Southern will be opening its 2009 campaign on Tuesday. The Lady Jaguars finished 9-20 a season ago. Southeastern defeated Southern twice in 2008.

Following Tuesday's match, Southeastern will take a week off before returning to the University Center for a 7 p.m. Green and Gold intrasquad match.
