HAMMOND – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's basketball team returns to action on Tuesday when it faces Ohio Valley Conference member Jacksonville State at the University Center.

Southeastern (2-1) returns to action for the first time since an 82-67 setback at Mississippi State on Thursday. 
Patrick Sullivan led the Lions with 20 points and seven rebounds with junior college newcomer 
Trent  Hutchin adding 14. Southeastern was held to a season-low 39 percent from the floor against the Preseason SEC West favorite and was outrebounded, 47-30.
Damon Forest has paced Southeastern off the bench with a team-high 17.7 points per game with Sullivan averaging 15.0 and Hutchin 14.7.

Brandon Fortenberry (7.0) are next in scoring for the Lions, who average 85.3 points per game while allowing 69.7.
JSU (2-1) opened its season with home wins against West Alabama and Georgia Southern sandwiched around an 87-62 loss to in-state rival UAB. The Gamecocks, a former rival of Southeastern from the Division II Gulf South Conference and the Division I Trans America Athletic Conference (now the Atlantic Sun), finished 11-17 last season under coach James Green.
Former East St. John High product Trenton Marshall leads the Gamecocks in scoring at 16.7 points per game. The 6-foot-5 swingman scored all 19 of his points in the second half against GSU, helping the Gamecocks turn a 29-28 halftime lead into an 89-67 victory.
Jay-R Stowbridge (14.7), Stephen Hall (12.3) and Jeremy Bynum (11.0) are next in scoring for JSU, which 81.3 points per game and shooting 49 percent from the field as a team.
