CONWAY, Ark. – Southeastern Louisiana senior
Jessica Srajer and
Courtney Donald posted seven kills each, but Southland Conference-leading Central Arkansas handed the Lady Lions its first league loss of the season, 25-17, 25-21, 25-15, Saturday afternoon at the Prince Center.
The Lady Lions (6-8, 2-1 SLC) lost for only the second time in its last seven matches. Red-hot Central Arkansas (16-2, 5-0 SLC) rolled to its school-record 15th consecutive victory.
Donald and Srajer were not the only offensive standouts for Southeastern, which hit .213 for the match. Freshman

Julie Elliott each recorded six kills apiece for the Lady Lions. Senior
Katie Collins led Southeastern with 15 assists, followed by senior
Lauren Mayer with 12 assists.
Defensively, Southeastern was paced by junior
Alex Greer with 15 digs, while Mayer posted a double-double with 11 digs to go with her assist total. Southeastern had 10 total blocks to just four for UCA. Freshman
Alexis Braghini led Southeastern with six block assists.
However, UCA was too much, hitting .321 for the match. Reigning Southland Conference Player of the Year Chloe Smith led the way for UCA with 17 kills, while Jessica Hays and Evaree Franklin contributed 11 and nine kills, respectively. Robyn Smith led all players with 39 assists, while Cristin Curl was credited with 18 digs.
Southeastern will return home for the first time in over a month on Thursday, hosting McNeese State at 7 p.m. in the University Center.
