HUNTSVILLE, Texas – Southeastern Louisiana junior
Allison Jones recorded a match-high 10 kills, but Southland Conference West Division leader Sam Houston State was too much for the Lady Lions to overcome in a 25-16, 25-20, 25-18 loss in league action Wednesday night at Johnson Coliseum.
The loss was the third straight for Southeastern (6-11, 2-4 SLC), which was held to a .018 hitting percentage by the Bearkats (14-10, 6-1 SLC). Sam Houston State extended its league-best winning streak to six matches.

Sam Houston State earned the victory with a .218 hitting percentage. Anna Ferguson led the Bearkats with 10 kills, while Carli Kolbe added nine kills. Michelle Miller led all players with 28 assists.
Kolbe and Kaylee Hawkins finished with 10 digs apiece to lead the Bearkats. Sam Houston State's work at the net, forcing the poor hitting percentage by the Lady Lions, also resulted in 12.5 team blocks. Ferguson and Katie Phillips finished with seven block assists each.
Southeastern will return home on Saturday, celebrating Homecoming weekend with a 2 p.m. match versus Lamar in the University Center.
