MONROE, La. -
Senior middle blocker LaToya Anthony and freshman MB Paige Dollison posted 11 kills each, sophomore libero Alex Greer led the defense with 12 digs and freshman setter Arianne Cruckshank recorded her first career double-double with 30 assists and 10 digs as the Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball team (1-2) rallied from an opening set loss to claim a 3-1 (12-25, 25-22, 25-20, 25-13) win, their first of the season at UL-Monroe (0-6) on Friday night.

The Lady Lions did not get the start they were looking for in the first round of the Adidas Lady Warhawk Bayou Showdown as  ULM hit .545 in the opening frame en route to a 25-12 win.

Southeastern, which trailed 15-10 early in the second before fighting back to tie the score at 19-19, took control late as kills from Anthony, Dollison and Cruckshank recorded the final three points of the set to give the Lady Lions a 25-22 win in the closest set of the night.

Anthony posted four kills and hit .429 (4-1-7) to lead the way on offense in the second set.  But, it would take a late kill from Dollison to put the set on ice and even the match at 1-1.

The Lady Lions capitalized on their momentum in the third as Dollison racked up five kills while hitting .833 (5-0-6)  and Anthony posted another four.  Cruckshank helped the cause with 13 assists in the third set.

Anthony, Dollison and junior right side hitter Lauren Mayer each posted three kills a piece and Greer recorded seven of her 12 digs in third set as the Lady Lions finished off the win with a 25-13 clincher in set four.

The Lady Lions will next return to action tomorrow at 11 a.m. when they face the UMKC Kangaroos in Monroe.
