Jessica Srajer paced the defense with four total blocks as the Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball team tried to rally after dropping the first two sets in their season-opening match against the South Alabama Lady Jaguars on Saturday. However, a win in set three and late run in set four weren't enough as the Lady Lions fell 3-1 (17-25, 11-25, 25-19, 23-25).

Southeastern rallied to reclaim a 14-13 lead after a South Alabama attack error, the Lady Jaguars used an 8-0 run to pull away before winnig 25-17 in the first set.
The Lady Lions jumped out to a 2-1 lead in set two after a Lady Jaguar attack error, but the South Alabama offense took over with a 7-0 run and reclaiming the lead for good and a 25-11 win in the second set.

Margaret Pittman joined Greer with a pair of aces as the Lady Lions took control for a 25-19 victory to force a fourth set.
The see-saw match continued in set four as neither South Alabama nor Southeastern could breakaway for a big run. Dollison and senior middle blocker LaToya Anthony each rattled off three kills with Mayer adding a pair and recording two digs in the fourth set. However, the Lady Lions found themselves facing match point after an attack error made it 24-19 in favor of South Alabama.
The Lady Lions put together one last rally, going on a 5-0 run after a pair of kills from Jones, one from Srajer and a Lady Jaguar error. However, it wasn't enough to force a fifth set as Juliana Almeida posted a kill for the winner.
The Lady Lions are now scheduled to open up the road portion of their schedule with a Wednesday night match in Hattiesburg, Miss. against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles.
