Newsome led Southeastern with 4.10 kills per set in a 2-1 showing at the Jack Kaiser Classic, hosted by St. John's. Her 26 kills in the tourney opener versus St. John's tied her career-high and were part of a double-double effort (14 digs) versus the Red Storm. She also had a double-double (13 kills, 10 digs) in a four-set win over Bryant.
