Gaconi, the Southland and Louisiana Pitcher of the Week, turned in another sterling performance Friday in the series opener against Nicholls, tossing the fifth complete game of his career. The senior from Metairie, Louisiana, scattered four hits while fanning a career-high 11 batters. The lone run he coughed up to the Colonels was unearned, scoring on a fielding error with two outs in the fourth inning.
