Sawyer, a senior, won the 400m, running a 45.75 and besting the rest of the field by over half a second. As a result of a 31-point weekend, Sawyer was named Southland Conference Men's Most Outstanding Performer. Sawyer also finished runner up in the 200m (20.80) just behind Central Arkansas's Zachary Jewell (20.72. Sawyer's performance adds to an already impressive 2021 resume that including winning the Southland Indoor title in the 400m back on March 1.
