Foster was named Southland Conference Student-Athlete of the Year after winning the indivual championship and leading the Lions to the first Southland title in program history. Foster finished the 8K race in a conference record time of 22:41.16. The Cypress, Texas native shattered the previous record of 23:29 set by Lamar’s Sam Stabler in 2014. Southeastern finished with 35 points blowing away the field as Stephen F. Austin was second with 102. The Lions’ win was the second largest margin of victory (77) in the 56-year history of the race.
