Mason was the leading tackler for SLU in its 35-14 victory over five-time defending Ohio Valley Conference champion and No. 6 Jacksonville State. Mason led a Southeastern defense that sacked JSU quarterback and OVC Preseason Player of the Year Zerrick Cooper and forced the Gamecock junior into two interceptions. The Lion defense catapulted SLU to its first win over a top 10 team since 2013.
