King cleared a school-record 18 feet, 8.75 inches (5.70 meters) to capture first in the pole vault at the Texas Relays, a mark that also qualified the Kentwood, Louisiana native for the USATF Olympic Trials for this summer’s Olympic Games in Rio Janeiro, Brazil.
