Bennett put together his best game in the Lion, as Southeastern rolled past Stephen F. Austin, 56-14, in the Southland Conference opener for both teams. Bennett posted season highs of 337 yards and four touchdowns on 13 of 20 passing. Bennett also threw three of the 10 longest passing touchdowns in school history in the win, connecting with Chris Malott (85 yards), Tony McCrea (82 yards) and Marquis Fruge’ (77 yards) on scoring tosses. He also led the Lions with 72 rushing yards, including his team-high seventh rushing touchdown of the season.
