In her return to the 400-meter hurdle scene after several weeks competing in the 400-meter dash, Esther Nwanze became the first Lady Lion in a decade to break 59 seconds in the 400mH as she crossed the line in 58.56 seconds for a fourth-place finish on Saturday at the LSU Alumni Gold meet. Along with being a new personal best, that time now has her less than a half-second away from the SLU school record while keeping her second on the SLC performance list, 13th in the South-Central Region, 25th on the East Regional Qualifying List, & 50th in all of Division I.
