Amy Blanke

Amy Blanke was named the third head beach volleyball coach in Southeastern history on December 10, 2024. Blanke took over the helm of the program after spending the 2024 season as an assistant coach on the SLU staff.

Before Southeastern, Blanke spent four seasons at the University of New Orleans as the top assistant, before taking over the program as the head coach for three seasons in 2021. In her first season at the helm, she helped the Privateers to secure one pair on the Southland Conference First Team All-Conference and three pairs named to Third Team All-Conference.

In 2022, UNO continued to improve under Blanke’s leadership as the Privateers posted a 20-15 record with a pair receiving SLC Pair of the Year and Newcomer of the Year. That same season, under Blanke’s guidance, one pair was sent to participate and represent UNO in the AVCA Pairs Championship that fall.

With continuous success, Blanke led UNO to a 21-16 record in 2023. Under Blanke's tutelage, Alexa Spartz broke the school record for most wins, while Spartz and Trinity Jackson also beat the school and conference record of 24-7. The squad was named All-Academic Team of the Year and placed third in the Southland Conference Championship. For her efforts, Blanke received votes in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll.

From 2015 to 2016, Blanke helped at Tulane University as the director of operations and assistant coach for the Green Wave that posted an 18-10 record and placed 19th in the national ranking. During this time, Blanke also led the NOLA Volleyball Club and East Valley Juniors that prepared athletes for the next level.

Blanke played her final season at the ULM from 2012-13, where she posted a 12-12 record with notable wins over Georgia State and Tulane. Blanke earned a spot on the 2013 Collegiate Nationals in Gulf Shores.

The Cleveland native played four seasons at Cleveland State, where she earned a conference championship in 2009 and was named Defensive Player of the Week as a libero.

Blanke earned a bachelor’s degree in health science and psychology at Cleveland State in 2012, before going on to earn her master’s degree in 2014 in exercise science and clinical exercise physiology at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
