Jessica VanSweden is in her third year as an assistant athletic trainer on the Southeastern Louisiana staff. VanSweden works with the softball team.
During her time in Hammond, she has also been the day-to-day sport medicince contact for women's basketball and tennis, as well as softball.
Prior to coming to Hammond, VanSweden spent two years at South Dakota State as a graduate assistant athletic trainer. While in Brookings, she worked with the softball team and the SDSU cheerleading and dance team.
During her undergraduate studies, she worked as a athletic training student at LSU. While with the Tigers, she worked a season each with the football, softball and women's gymnastics.
A member of the National Athletic Training Association, VanSweden earned her bachelor's degree in kinesiology from LSU in 2011. Her master's degree in sport and recreation studies earned at South Dakota State was conferred in 2013.
