Competed in eight meets in his first collegiate season, exclusively competing in the pole vault... Best height cleared was 3.95 meters (12'11.5") at the Vulcan Invitational indoor meet, hosted by Alabama-Birmingham, and the Louisiana Classic outdoor meet, hosted by Louisiana-Lafayette... Named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll.
Prior to Southeastern:
Prepped at Zachary High School... Was the basketball, cross country, & track & field teams for the Broncos... District champion in the pole vault... Broke the Zachary High school record by clearing 13'6"... Had team's highest GPA... Earned the Bronco Tradition Award... Was also a member of the National Honor Society & Young Entrepreneurs Association of Baton Rouge.
Personal:
Born December 10, 2005 in Baton Rouge... Son of Wendy McCarthy... Has three older siblings - Devin, Julie, & Trevor... Likes cutting grass, cooking, working out, & being an entrepreneur... Most exciting athletic event he's witnessed was watching another college pole vaulter clear 18 feet... Biggest sports thrill was winning the district championship during his senior year of high school... Majors in biochemistry at Southeastern.
