Ran in five meets in four different distances... Started season with lone 5K at the Battle for New Orleans, finishing in 19:37.5... Ran the 4K at the LSU Invitational in 14:54.2... Completed the four-mile course at the Nicholls Invitational in 26:32.1... Fastest 8K time came at the Watson Collegiate Classic, stopping the clock in 31:04.3... Named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Fall Honor Roll.
Sophomore Season (2023):
Did not compete in any meets during this season.
Freshman Season (2022):
Ran in his first meet for the Lions at the UNO Cross Country Opener, finishing his only 5K of the season in 18:42.0... Lone 6K of the season came at the LSU Invitational, stopping the clock in 22:32.4... Competed in his only 8K of the season at the SLC Championships, crossing the line in 30:38.0... Also competed at the Nicholls Invitational, a near-6.5K course, which he completed in 22:32.4.
Prior to Southeastern:
Prepped at Brother Martin High School in New Orleans... Was on the track & field team for the Crusaders, competing in the 800-meter run, 1,600-meter run, 4x400-meter relay, & 4x800-meter relay... Named team captain... Fastest times in high school - 1:57.01 in 800m, 4:14 in the 1,500., & 4:31 in the 1,600m.
Personal:
Born February 27, 2004 in New Orleans... Son of Darian Chestnut & Coy Robinson... Goes by the nickname "DJ"... Has two older siblings, Ashante & Trayon... Hobbies include track & being with family & friends... Biggest sports thrill was competing in the Junior Olympics... Majors in business management at SLU.
