2012: Played in 45 games, making 40 starts in the outfield … Batted .235 with two home runs, 14 runs batted in, five doubles and 14 runs scored … Led team and ranked ninth in the Southland Conference with nine sacrifice hits … Homered and drove in three runs in wins over Jackson State and South Alabama … Doubled versus Northern Illinois, Southern Illinois, Indiana, Central Arkansas and Nicholls State … Scored two runs versus Northern Colorado, Northern Illinois, Central Arkansas and South Alabama … Had five multi-hit games.

2010: Worked her way in the starting lineup early in the season, starting 29 of 40 games on the year … Second on the team with a .319 batting average, five home runs, five doubles and 20 runs scored … Also had 30 hits and 12 runs batted in … Was 4-for-4 with a double and a run scored versus A&M-Corpus Christi … Recorded a 4-for-5 performance with a double, two RBI and a run scored in a 7-1 win at Alcorn State … Homered in both games of a doubleheader at McNeese State … Also homered versus Grambling, Northwestern State and A&M-Corpus Christi … Stole bases versus Alcorn State and Northwestern State.
High School: A multi-time All-District performer at Alvin High School … Was named team MVP as a senior … As a junior, was a second team All-State performer and the AHS Offensive Player of the Year, setting a new school RBI record and helping the team to a Class 5A state title … Played for former Lady Lion Carla Newson at AHS and was a teammate of Southeastern’s 2009 and 2010 All-Southland Conference performer Meghan Gomez on the AHS and Alvin No Fear teams … Also played for the Texas Storm in club ball.
Personal: Born Kelsey Renee Nichols in Houston, Texas …. One of Doug and Kim Nichols’ five children … A math education major.
