2011: Started all 45 games she appeared in … Led team with six home runs, three triples and 22 walks … Ranked among the Southland Conference leaders in home runs (13^th), triples (6^th) and walks (13^th) … Also was second on the team with 20 RBI … Hit .234 with 26 hits and 13 runs scored … Was named the Southland Conference Hitter of the Week after hitting two home runs and driving in seven runs in a three-game sweep of league foe Central Arkansas … Hit a walkoff grand slam in a 6-4 win over UCA in the series finale … Also homered versus Evansville, UT Arlington, Nicholls and Southern Miss … Had five games with two or more hits … Walked three times in a 4-2 win over Tennessee-Martin … Stole a base versus UT Arlington.  

Prior to Southeastern: Spent two seasons at Centenary, starting 91 of 93 games … Hit six home runs as a freshman and led the Ladies with four home runs as a sophomore … Had 61 hits, 31 runs and 13 doubles in her two years in Shreveport.

High School: Four-sport performer at The Woodlands College Park High School … In addition to softball, played on the school’s volleyball, track and basketball teams … Was a member of the Texas Sting club team.

Personal: Born Katelyn Matthews in Livonia, Mich. … One of Jerry and Vicki Matthews’ three children … Has an older sister, Corey and a younger brother, Max … a general studies major.
