Lone four-mile race of the season was at the Nicholls Invitational, finishing in 26:05.6... Best 8K time was 31:20.2 at the Watson Collegiate Classic... Named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Fall Honor Roll.
Freshman Season (2023):
Made his debut for the SLU cross country team at the LSU Invitational, running in his only 6K of the season & finished in 22:02.2... Ran the near 6.5K track at the Nicholls Cross Country Invitational in 24:02.8... Quickest 8K time came at the Lion Up Invitational, coming in at 29:50.7... Took part in the Southland Conference Championships & finished that 8K course in 32:35.8... Named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Fall Honor Roll.
Prior to Southeastern:
Prepped at Destrehan High School... Was on the track & field & cross country teams for the Wildcats... Also was a member of the St. Charles Striders AAU track & field club.

Born April 20, 2005 in Kenner, La. as Edwin Portillo... Son of Edwin & Brandy Portillo... Goes by the name "Manny"... Has four siblings - Don, Korey, Avah, & Alanah... Enjoys photography, weightlifting, & being with frmily & friends... Most exciting athletic event he's seen was the 2016 NBA Finals... Majors in health sciences at SLU.
