HOOVER, Ala. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's golf team sits in 11^th place after Sunday's opening round of the GMAC Invitational at Inverness Country Club.
 
The Lions combined for a team score of 12-over par after the initial 18 holes. Host UAB shot six-under par to hold a three-stroke lead after Sunday's action.
 
David Marsh carded a one-over par 71 to sit in a tie for 23^rd place to lead the Lions. Hudson Partin (+2, T31st), Lorenzo Palmieri (+4, T49th), Preston Paulk (+5, T59th) and Luca Rimauro (+8, T70th) were the other SLU participants. Western Kentucky's Rafe Blankenship and Will Drake of Jacksonville State share the individual day one lead at four under par.
 
Southeastern will play with South Carolina Upstate and Charleston Southern in Monday's second round. Live stats for the tournament, which runs through Tuesday, will be accessible via the men's golf schedule at www.LionSports.net.
